Todd Schroeder was born in Defiance, Ohio, in 1968. He attended Ohio University from 1986 until 1990. Todd followed his college sweetheart, actress Meg Kelly,
to New York City, moving there the day after graduating from college with a BFA in painting. Todd lived in New York from June 1990 to August 2000.
Todd worked as an artist in New York having a solo show at White Columns in 1997 and being included in many group shows, most notably being selected by Brice Marden for a show at Exit Art in 1999. His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Time Out New York, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Cleveland Plain Dealer among several other publications.
Todd returned to school in the fall of 2000 and completed his MFA in Painting and Sculpture in the Fall 2003 at Kent State University. After finishing graduate studies at Kent, he was invited to stay and teach drawing, design and painting. Todd also taught all levels of drawing as a visiting Professor of Art at Oberlin College for 2 years. In 2005 Todd accepted a job to teach at the Savannah College of Art and Design where he teaches drawing, design, time-based media, painting and alternative media in painting.
He and Meg have 3 kids: Jackson, born 1996; Greta, born 2000; and Jet, born 2003.
