Craig Drennen is an artist living in Savannah, Georgia. He has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and MFA’s in Painting and Art History and was a 2006 participant at the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture. He shows his paintings, drawings, and multiples nationally and internationally and is represented by Samson Projects in Boston, MA. His 2007 solo exhibition there was titled “Pictures From the Phantom Zone.” He has had solo exhibitions at the Savannah Gallery in Atlanta, GA in 2006 and at Brooklyn Fireproof Gallery in Brooklyn, NY in 2005. His last curatorial project was “Semiconductors: Painting the Transmission of Information,” at Pharmaka Gallery in Los Angeles in 2005. He has shown work at recent art fairs including ScopeNY in New York City, NADA in Miami, ARCO in Madrid, MACO in Mexico City, and the Affair at the Jupiter Hotel in Portland.
He is a member of the painting department at the Savannah College of Art and Design. From December 2002 until 2007 he organized his studio activity around the 1984 movie Supergirl. He is now making new work based on Shakespeare’s Timon of Athens.
