Betsy Cain received her MFA from the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa and was named a “Georgia Woman in the Visual Arts” in 1997. Her work straddles the border between figuration and abstraction, suggesting states of being and internal/mental landscapes. Forceful, creative brushwork; strong light and saturated color, give the work a sense of motion and reflect her interest in the rich qualities of the low country landscape.
