2CarGarage Contemporary Art Gallery is Savannah’s premier gallery for contemporary art. Managed by art consultant Wendy Cooper, 2CarGarage maintains the highest standard of fine art.
2CarGarage’s mission is to feature and promote artists who are intellectually motivated and who are leaders in their craft and their conception. We seek to bring to the Savannah art and retail scene progressive works by artists whose styles reflect a range of influences from the ordered expression of Classicism and the efficiency of Modernism to the forward thinking of Postmodernism.
We seek to enhance dialogue and educate the Savannah community about national contemporary art trends. We deal primarily in two-dimensional works, including oil painting, mixed media, and works on paper, particularly drawings.
2CarGarage specializes in assembling fine art collections for businesses and individuals. Our services include consultation on art placement and installation.
We provide full-service art packages for offices, hotels, corporations, restaurants, spas, and residential clients. We will review your interior design scheme and work with you to provide original works of art for your venue.
Wendy Cooper, managing director and art consultant, received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Studio Art with a minor in Business from the University of Georgia. She also completed graduate coursework in interiors in the Historic Preservation program at the University of Georgia and participated in the Studies Abroad Program in Classical Archaeology in Carthage, Tunisia. While working in her bachelors, she participated in the Museum Studies Program at the Georgia Museum of Art, where she curated exhibitions for the Southeast Traveling Exhibition Service. She acted as co-curator with the Director William U. Eiland of “Stories from Life: The Photography of Horace Bristol.” Her professional background includes a 10-year career at the Georgia Museum of Art, where she coordinated the public relations and fund-raising efforts of the Museum. She subsequently acted as Director of the Friends of the Museum, during which she directed the collecting efforts of the Friends, as well as directed the marketing efforts of the non-profit organization. After moving to Savannah, Cooper became a marketing consultant and has acted as art director for several marketing campaigns. She now devotes her time to her fine art work and organizing exhibitions for 2CarGarage.
The gallery is located at 10 East Broughton Street across from Starbucks.
